Cunniff Ancestors, Parish of Annagh, Ballyhaunis

Hello. I will be visiting Ballyhaunis on April 14 to see where my father's side of the family is from. My cousin has done a good bit of research on our family tree. I know that my great, great grandfather, Thomas Cunniff was born in Ballyhaunis, County Mayo about 1835 and married Mary Fynn in the Parish of Annagh, Ballyhaunis, County Mayo in December 1853 and had subsequent children baptized in the Parish of Annagh, Ballyhaunis, County Mayo (Bridget Cunniff baptized December 1856, my great grandmother Ellen Cunniff baptized June 17, 1859, Mary Cunniff baptized October 23, 1861). I am trying to track down any other information regarding the specific church they attended in The parish of Annagh and maybe even some information about the location of their residence or work location so that we can go to them. Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated and make our visit to Ballyhaunis even more special

I assume your Cunniff family left Ireland sometime after the birth of Mary?

The Griffiths Valuation for Annagh civil parish (1855) only listed one Cunniff record- John Cunniff in Grallagh townland.

The current church in Ballyhaunis is St. Patrick's which goes back to 1907 https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/buildings-search/building/31213003/saint-patricks-catholic-church-main-street-hazelhill-ballyhaunis-mayo

Before that at least back to 1837 there was a chapel in the town. https://www.johngrenham.com/records/lewis.php?civilparishid=1732&civilparish=Annagh&county=Mayo&search_type=full

There were two Cunniff families in the 1901 census for Annagh civil parish both located in Grallagh. I'm sure they were related to Thomas.

Call into Eddie Murphy's Mensware Store in Ballyhaunis. Eddie Murphy's Jnr's mother will have information on one family of Cunniffes from Ballyhaunis. There was an Eileen Cuniffe, John Cunniffe, Leo Cunniffe, There are from photos taken in USA circa 1924 - 1929. Eddie's Greatmother was Norah Judge. John Cunniffe was her Uncle. Norah Judge married John Meehan (my uncle).
