Cullens Kiltyclogher
Hi, I had family Kiltyclogher, Cornmore. Anyone related to the Cullen’s I would be interested to hear from you. My family left after 1851, but seeing if anyone remained, Cheers

Can you provide more details? First names, approx. birth/marriage dates, children, etc.? And where did they settle in the U.S. (assuming it was the U.S.)?

Hi, settled in Haddington, Scotland, then moved to London. Born in Kiltyclogher in 1847 to Hugh Cullen and Mary Hart. My great grandmother was born in 1885 in Tooting, London, number of siblings. Cheers
Jimmy
In the records at rootsireland, there was no Mary Harte married to Hugh Cullen, but there was a Bridget Harte…
Marriage: 25-Jan-1842
RC Parish: Killanummery Roman Catholic, Co. Leitrim
Husband Hugh Cullen
Wife Bridget Harte
Baptism
Their daughter, Mary, was baptized in the same parish on 14 Feb. 1844.

Griffith’s Valuation of Leitrim in 1857 listed 147 Cullens as heads of household, so you can see the name was very common. There were three Cullens in Kiltyclogher. They were likely your relatives.
Surname First Name Townland Parish County
Griffith Cullen Daniel Kiltyclogher Cloonclare Co. Leitrim
Griffith Cullen Francis Kiltyclogher Cloonclare Co. Leitrim
Griffith Cullen Owen Kiltyclogher Cloonclare Co. Leitrim
Perhaps contact the Kiltyclogher (or other local) heritage center to see if there are Cullens in Kiltyclogher.
Good luck.
