Croke, Shine, Roche and Mahoney families.

Looking for information on ancestors of Ellen Mahoney born about 1830 (daughter of Timothy Mahoney and Honora Roche) and her husband William Croke born about 1830 (son of Patrick Croke and Ellen Shine).

Ellen Mahoney was baptised Freemount (diocese Cloyne) 6/6/1830.

Ellen and William Croke were also known to have lived in the Milford, Tullyleace, Freemount area prior to emmigrating to Australia in approximately 1860.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The records for Freemount/Milford parish start in 1827 https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0052

I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and located the marriage record in 1828 and also a baptismal record for a son William in 1836. You may want to scan the register for other baptismal records in case Roots Ireland missed one. The record for Ellen was on June 6, 1830 as you indicated.

Because the records start in 1827, I don't think baptismal records are avalable for Timothy or Honora.

The family lived in Knockatoumpane townland in Tullylease parish.

I will get back to you on the Croke family.

I was not able to locate a baptismal record for William Croke but I did find on Roots Ireland baptismal records for two brothers. See below. I also did not find a marriage record for Patrick Croke and Ellen Shine.

I looked for a marriage record for William Croke and Ellen Mahoney but did not find a record.

However, I did find five baptismal records for children of William Croke and Ellen Mahoney. Not sure if all of these are for the correct family. Also, you had them leaving Ireland in 1860 (appr.)
