Condon Connections

Hello everyone,
I am writing from Australia in the hope of connecting with distant relatives or local historians who might recognize my branch of the Condon family. We trace our roots back to the historic Condon Clan heartland around the North Cork/Limerick border (near Fermoy, Mitchelstown, and Kilworth).
Julia Condon was my great-grandmother. She was born on 17 November 1874 in Dungowan, near Tamworth, New South Wales. She later moved to Newcastle, NSW, where she married Albert Berwick and passed away in 1950.

Julia was the daughter of James Condon (my great-great-grandfather) and Catherine Ann
"Kate" Byrnes, who married on 21 July 1870 in Dungowan, NSW.
James Condon emigrated from
Ireland to Australia in the mid-1800s.
Given our family lore and the strong ties to the Condon name, James's family belonged to the lineage tightly localized around ancestral
Cloghleagh Castle.
I am very keen to find out the exact parish or townland James Condon left behind, and to connect with any cousins still living in the Cork, Limerick, or Tipperary areas today.
If any local researchers recognize this branch, or if you are a Condon with family who went to the New England/Tamworth region of New South Wales, please reach out!
Thank you so much,
Maree
