Clancy/Cashion/Gallagher

I am researching the Clancy family of Co Leitrim Cortubber, the Gallagher family of Co. Roscommon Kilronan and Co Leitrim Kiltubride, and the Cashen (Cashion) family of Co. Roscommon, Castlerea.

Castlerea Roscommon responded to a previous post of mine (in a different account) that Ann Gallagher was born in Co. Roscommon Kilronan. I wondered why he picked this Ann Gallagher as being related to my Clancy Family. I think Castelrea Roscommon is right. Although she was born in Roscommon, there is a record of Anthony Clancy marrying Ann Gallagher in Co. Leitrim Kiltubrid. I also found a Griffiths Valuation record of a Ambrose Gallagher in Co Leitrim Kiltubrid; Ambrose was Ann's father per the Castlerea Roscommon cited baptismal record of Ann. Also my father's middle name was Ambrose. I think there are too many coincidences for Ann not to be related. Any thoughts/comments?

Ann Gallagher born/Baptised June 27 1840 (from Kilronan parish records) Daughter of Ambrose and Bridget Gallagher. An Ann Gallagher married Anthony Clancy in Kiltubrid in 1860. Highly likely it is the same Ann Gallagher. If you search for Ambrose Gallagher in the Tithing Applotment Books (1833) you will find Ambrose Gallagher in Knockadrian and Greaghnaleava Beg, Parishof  Kilronan Co. Roscommon. Griffith's Valuations place Ambrose at Aghakilbrack (Kiltubrid Parish, County Leitrim) in mid 1850's.

Hi Spabob,

It has been a long time since I replied to your enquiry regarding Ann Gallagher (Annae) and the  parish records in Kilronan.

Do you have further information for the Gallagher Family (Ambrose's other children) and if not would you like to obtain it Four of Ambrose's children emigrated to Australia. Ann's brother Patrick (also born in Kilronan Parish July 8, 1838) has a grave at Wilsons Downfall Cemetery near a township called Tenterfield in New South Wales Australia. If you don't have this type of information and would like more info please let me know on this message board.

best regards
