Church of Ireland Records for the Templemichael Parish Co. Cork
Volunteers:
We received a message from Trevor Webb who is looking for transcripts of baptismal/marriage records for the Church of Ireland parish in Co. Cork. I did some searching and it appears records may be available in Dublin at the Representative Church Library and possibly at the reading room for the National Archives in Ireland. There is also a Michael Leader collection online at the IGRS site https://www.irishancestors.ie/michael-leader-pr-transcripts which has records for a Templemichael civil parish but the index shows Co. Longford not Co. Cork.

Hello
I am seeking assistance or advice on locating early Church of Ireland parish register entries for the Webb family of Coolculitha, Ballymartle / Templemichael civil parish, County Cork.
My direct ancestor is John Webb (born c. 1820s), who is recorded in the 1850s Griffith’s Valuation leasing a house and garden at Plot 11a, Coolculitha.
By tracing the land records backward to the 1823–1837 Tithe Applotment Books, the head of the household on this exact same plot was Thomas Webb. I believe Thomas to be John's father.
Based on traditional family naming patterns and local naming conventions, I am searching for the baptisms of John and his potential siblings, who likely included a William Webb and a Mary Webb, born to Thomas Webb in Coolculitha between roughly 1815 and 1835.
I am trying to discover:
- The exact baptism dates for John, William, or Mary Webb in the Ballymartle / Templemichael Church of Ireland records.
- The first name and maiden name of Thomas Webb's wife (my 4x great-grandmother), which should be listed alongside Thomas on these baptism entries.
- Any record of a marriage for Thomas Webb in the area between 1810 and 1825.
If anyone has access to the Michael Leader transcripts for Ballymartle or the surviving parish microfilms from the Representative Church Body (RCB) Library, I would be incredibly grateful for a lookup or any pointers on how to narrow this down.
Thank you so much for your time and help!
Regards
Trevor Webb
