Oral tradition places my great-grandfather in County Meath, parrish unknown. Given the spelling of Balfeagin, I thought there might be a connection. Here is some of his data:

> Born 1821 in Ireland

> First appears in U.S. census in Famrnington, Connecticut, in 1850, nickname "the potato king"

>Married Mary Margaret Conlon and lived in Farmington, Connecticut, Married in St. Mary's Church, New Britain, CT., 3 Feb, 1850

>They have 9 children, Henry, Thomas, James, Catherine, Mary, Christopher, Margaret & Ann

> Died 30 Dec 1872 in New Britain, Connecticut

Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am looking at old queries and trying to sort an answer, I searched a subscription site for baptisms in Meath from 1810 to 1830 and got 7 hits, remember not all parishes will have records at this time so may be missing, none of hits were close to the year 1821, 1812 and 1829 been the closest.

As it is impossible to say if we have the correct one without parents names, may be on his marriage or death certificate, however what was noticable was that 5 of the hits were in the one parish which is Kilskyrne / Ballinlough as a variant, the parish registers are here but an oh so difficult read, you can see them here https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0907

Good Luck
