Denis Callaghan & Ellen Buckley are my great grandparents & Michael McCarthy is my grandfather.

To assist volunteers, it would be helpful if you would provide more dates and information- birthdates, marriage, and death. Not sure of the connection between Michael McCarthy and Denis and Ellen. I would have thought his last name would be Callaghan. Is this their son-in-law?

I found the following baptisms for Denis and Ellen children on Ancestry, there may be more- Julia 1844. John 1849, Thomas 1851, Helen 1853, Michael 1857, Cornelius 1856, Helen 1859, Margaret 1861, Elizabeth 1863
A tree on Ancestry also included Mary 1845, Johanna 1849, Daniel 1865, Denis 1869
Maybe Michael? Who did he marry? When and Where?

they are indeeed my great great grandparents.
I believe they had 13 chIldren (some of whom went to Austrailia).
Their daughter Elizabeth Callaghan (my great grandmother) is Michael McCarthy's mother.
On Michael's marrigare certificate (1920 Glenflesk) it states his father is Florence McCarthy (Deceased) & mother Elizabeth Callaghan.
I couldn't find record of birth, only baptism which confirms the above. Did find Michael Callaghan born Ballagh to Bessie Callaghan with no father listed.

Michael was left with the Callaghan's & allegedly his parents went to Austrailia without him (this was what my mum, Michael's daughter, was told...)
hes's on the 1901 census as Callaghan & the 1911 census as McCarthy)
Can find no record of their emmigration; but there must have been contact due to Michael being aware mother was still alive & father had died. Plus the name change on census??).
I'm optimistic that one day I'll find the facts / relatives

I believe Michael (Callaghan) was born 28.9.1886 in Ballagh & Birth registered by his mother Bessie Callaghan. No father listed.
But:

Michael married Kathleen Kelliger in Glenflesk 5.2.1920
