Calhoun search

Hi, I am looking for information on my direct ancestors. They are calhoun's, but I can't seem to find anything beyond my 5th great-grandfather's name and death date. His name was Robert Calhoun, born in Derry, County Cavan, Ireland, and passed in 1868. I only know of one child he had, James Henry Calhoun, born in 1811 in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland, and passed in 1866 in Hays, Texas. James' mother in Unknown. If it helps, James' wife's name was Elizabeth "Eliza" petit Thurmond, born in 1820 in virginia and passed in 1919 also in Hays, Texas. What I am really looking for is my direct ancestors beyond Robert. I have about 7/8 of my family tree mapped out, but this part is bothering me the most being missing.
