Brophy of Kilkenny

Hi, I am looking for any information on my Brophy ancestors from Kilkenny.  

Alice - born abt 1846 (can’t find a baptism record so it might have been burnt in the fire)

John - baptised 5/8/1848 - possibly married to Mary Keeffe 29/7/1901 Gowan but I might be wrong.

Pat - bapt 31/4/1850

Denis - bapt 9/4/1854

Michael - bapt 25/7/1854 or 1856

William - bapt 16/10/1857

Julia - bapt 13/8/1862 (married 19/2/1906 to Edward Farrell at St Mary’s Cathedral, Kilkenny)

As far as I know they all had the same parents who were Patrick Brophy and Honora Patterson (could be spelt Honoria). Can’t find a marriage for the parents so that might have been lost in the fire too).

 I came to Kilkenny for a week in March with my husband and we had a wonderful relaxing time. We spent a lot of time in the castle grounds

Hi,

There is a tree on Ancestry with your Brophy family. Per the tree, this is your Alice. Joseph and Alice had 7 children and she died in Castlecomer in 1920. Not sure why husband's name on death record is John.

Record from RootsIreland (paid subscription). All of Patrick's and Honoras' childrens' baptismal records show them born in Monegonvough, Muckalee.

Hi,

Thank you Mary and Roger for replying. I have practically everything on Alice and Joseph wedding and children. My Alice (Joseph wife) died in 1938.

That is her father Patrick who died in 1864. 

That’s very interesting abt Mary Brophy marriage in 1866, I shall explore this route. 

I practically live on the sites Ancestry and Irish genealogy. I did go on Roots Ireland but they only let you do so many views and I used all my views up before my month ended.

I’m hoping someone will recognise the Brophy names that I put up so I can connect the dots.
