Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
In the 1901 census for Co. Sligo, there were 269 Brennan households. So the name was very common in Sligo. Do you happen to have the names (including maiden name of mother) of the parents of Mary, Catherine and Bridget? Thanks!
Roger McDonnell
Hi Roger,
Maiden name I do have was Mary (Marie) Shannon, married to Thomas L Brennan.

The subscription site Roots Ireland does not have any marriage records for a Thomas Brennan married to a Shannon. There is an 1866 marriage of a Thomas Brennan to a Mary Gannan. See below. I looked for baptismal records for this couple and only found two: Patrick 1866 John 1871. No daughters.
I will keep looking.

Hello Kathie and Roger McDonnell. This must be the link you are looking for although it's complicated. My great, great Grandmother was Mary Ann Callery Brennan, married to John Brennan from Boyle, Rosscommon. Their daughter was Mary Ann Brennan. The great grandmother and her sister Bridget Callery immigrated to America to Peoria, Illinois. Mary Ann Brennan and John, traveled with another couple, John O'Connor and Magreth (Hayes) O'Connor and their son Thomas O'Connor, also from Rosscommon. At first they stayed with Mary Ann Callery's brother Patrick Callery, who preceeded their immigrations and had a farm in Peoria he was also from Rosscommon. Mary Ann Brennan (the daughter) and Thomas, (the son) of Margreth and John O'Connor, got married! Thomas was a respected policeman in Peoria. But some of the hoodlums in town disliked him and Thomas was found in the Peoria River where it was said they drowned him. I know Mary Ann Callery Brennan was born in 1829 and died in Peoria in 1914. Hope this helps.
Hello, actually have a bit of a correction RE: Mary Ann and John Brennan who came to America with Bridget. And John O'Connor and Magreth Hayes.
Their daughter young Mary Ann Brennan and son of John O'Connor and Magreth, Thomas O'Connor, weren't born until they arrived in Peoria. Thank you! Told you it was confussing!
