Your wonderful group of volunteers (a couple of years ago) did some delving into my Bourke family from County Limerick, where my 2xGreat Grandparents, Patrick Bourke married in 1830 Peggy Harty in Pallasgreen and Templebredin, Cashel and Emly. I was simply thrilled to find out the other children in their family apart from my Gt grandfather, Martin (1834-1916) from your wonderful volunteer.

It would give me great joy if I was able to

  1. Find out more about the lives of these siblings of my Martin who ended up coming to settle in NZ - it would be superb to find if there are any living relatives still in Ireland!
  2. Peggy Harty - any information about her at all would be most welcome.
  3.  Gratefully yours, Pam Bourke-Shaw

Pam.

Roger shared your message. I have copied some of the information about Martin's family.

Patrick Bourke married Margaret Harty on Feb 23, 1830, in Pallasgreen and Templebredon. Patrick was living in Garranemore, Pallasgrean, Limerick at the time. A Laurence Bourke witnessed the wedding. They had the following children- Judith 1830, Laurence 1832, Martin Nov 9, 1834, Catherine 1837, Ellen 1839, Margaret 1842, Rodger 1845, and Patrick 1848.

I checked siblings' names on Ancestry and didn't find any info other than baptisms. I hoped to find a tree which might lead to more info. I tried to find marriage records on RootsIreland without success. Maybe another volunteer can find something.

Oh well, sadly it seems we have all hit the proverbial "Brick Wall" re any further information about the Bourke-Harty family in Limerick. It does seem strange to me, that of Patrick and Peggy (Margaret) Bourke's 8 children only my gt grandfather, Martin has any information able to be found. It is flumoxing! But I do appreciate your efforts. (I don't think there are any replies to your kind new query in the Message Board - unless I'm just not accessing them correctly - quite possible!) Thank you. Pam
