Hi, not sure if anyone can help here. I'm looking for a birth/baptism record for my paternal grandmother Elizabeth Stanley ( her father was Thomas Stanley) and she came from farming stock in Southern Ireland. Shemarried my grandfather who was British and lived in UK until she died in 1956. She was born around 1900, possibly earlier.
Any ideas what my next step should be please as I cannot seem to find her anywhere?

www.irishgenealogy.ie has civil birth records from 1864-1916. I searched for all Elizabeth Stanley birth records from 1880-1905 and there were twenty seven. You can reduce the number by eliminating areas in the Northern Ireland, Dublin etc. since you believe she was born in Southern Ireland.
I did not go thru them looking for a father Thomas but could there could be more than one and there is no way to be sure that the birth was civilly registered. You really need her mother's maiden name to be sure.

I have discovered her date of birth 14/10/1896 but still unable to find her birth records. I fear they may have been lost in the fire in the records office and I have reached the end of the road. Any further advice welcome. Any pointers welcome. If I came to Ireland would there be anywhere I could get help from?

I went back and searched all Elizabeth Stanley civil birth records from 1890-1906 for all of Ireland and the only record that had a father Thomas was the 1904 record that Gerard provided back in 2018. Maybe she was registered under a different given name or possibly the birth was not registered.
As an aside, the records office fire in 1922 destroyed many valuable records but did not destroy any of the civil birth records.
