Barrons of kilmacow

Roger, thankls for the reply, my family was Catholic, They remained so after imigration untilmy grandfather, born 1889. The family letters written by Johanna Roach Barron mostly all from Ballincurragh/ Ballincurra/ Ballincur depending on who wrote the letter, incoming or outgoing differ. John W. Barron's father we believe to be Walter Barron, From the Granny area, he was made a High constable of poundage in 1826, we find him as a witness in several weddings etc. but little else is known, it appears he farmed, had a rock quarry, John's sonMichael Roach Barron married Mary rosalee Murphy from Ballycullane wexford in 1836, they immigrated in 1848. We have all manner of letters, business and personal, as Mary Rosalee's father and brother were attornys in the area, and in Dublin (Anthony and Doyle) and of these letters I can look for information should someone need it,. Reciently I found Elenoir(Ellie) Barron married a Thomas Fogarty , she was a sister to John W.. Our family is now clan 7 in the wiki study. I find no Catholic records before about 1864, Again, thanks John Lowell Barron

Hi John, not sure if Roger seen this as it is not on the original thread, you could consider posting it on the parish page on this site. Also there are active private pages on Facebook based on counties or sometimes even parishes.

This site gives parish records and start dates, some extra info is on Irish Roots but this is a good guide. https://registers.nli.ie/ ;

Thanks

Pat
