Ballyclare National school records 1854-1867

My great grandad x 2, James Blain born C. 1849 attended the National Scool in Doagh, Co antrim until he was 13. From what I can gather tge school was called Ballyclare National School. Given his approx year of birth this would mean he would have attended the school between 1854- 1867 approx. Does anyone know if there are school records for this period and where i would find them? Are they digitalised? Can i access them online. I live in Glasgow. Thanks

The attendance records are held in PRONI. (The public record office in Belfast). Ballyclare National School is held under ref SCH/1045. I do not know what years they cover. The records are not on-line so you either need to go in person, or get a researcher to go for you, or pay PRONI to look them up (which may be quite expensive).
