Ann Stapleton

Hi My wife and I will be visiting Ireland the end of May and early June. I have a Great Great Grandmother Ann Stapleton born July 12,1843 in Kilkenny,Dunmore, Radestown South. She had married Patrick Fallon. I believe they both died in Connecticut,USA and she about 1919 . We will be staying in Kilkenny and if I could make a link to any ancestry there that would be very cool. Thank you. Ed and Lora Henry

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I assume Ann Stapleton was RC.

The RC parish for Dunmore and Radestown South would be St. John's in Kilkenny town.Records for 1809-1872 are here http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0991   I searched on Roots Ireland since they have the St. John's records but could not locate a baptismal record or the marriage record.

The 1901 and 1911 censuses have three Stapleton families in Radestown North townland. Likely they were connected to Ann.

You may want to consider autosomal DNA testing.

Fallon52,  I too am descended from Annie Stapleton of Kilkenny.  My father's mother was Mary Ellen Fallon, daughter of Patrick Fallon and Annie Stapleton.  I'm assuming that we're cousins but don't know where in the family tree we connect.  Here's my line:  Larry O'Keefe, son of Herbert O'Keefe, son of Mary Ellen Fallon, daughter of Annie Stapleton of Kilkenny.  Do you see a connection?  My email:  lokeefe@aol.com
