Ameilia (Emma) Finn O'Connell - Limerick
Would appreciate help in revisiting some info on my great grandmother Amelia (Emma) Finn O’Connell. Info previously supplied through this message board may be inaccurate as there may be two different families involved – I am unsure.
I know my great grandmother Ameila / Emma Finn:
- Was born in 1859 in Limerick (likely Bally Cashon / Cappagh).
- She married Patrick Connell / O’Connell on Sept 23, 1883 in Cappagh at Doon chapel
- Emma’s father is listed as Michae Finn, a laborer from Bally Cashon (sp?)
- Patrick’s father is listed as James Connell, a laborer also from Bally Cashon (sp?)
Trying to learn / confirm more about Emma’s mother – possibly Winnifred (Winnie) Dwyer. Previously it was reported as Winnie, but I am not certain as previous report had many names of Winnifred’s children (Margaret b.1864, Bridget b. 1866, and James b. 1870 – but not Ameila or Ann…..) and Emma’s Death notice from 1951 (Chicago) only lists two sisters: Anne Finn Carey and Bridget Finn O’Connell… both of whom I can find and both of whom predeceased Emma in 1951. I can find no info on the others leading me to think maybe a different family? Or, maybe they were siblings but did not emigrate and so Emma lost track of them???
I hope this makes sense and would appreciate any further help / clarification as well as details on parents, etc.
