Allmans of Clare

I am researching the family of Captain Francis Allman 1780-1860 who was born in County Clare. however, I suspect there is a strong connection to the Allman's of Cork. His father was John Allman, his mother Hannah Jannes. Any information on whether there was a family connection would be appreciated.

In 1855, in Griffith's Valuation of Clare, I found the following:

Griffith Allman Mrs Hannah Corranroo Abbey Co. Clare

I hope this helps.

Francis Allman - 1780 - 1860

Was Francis a brother of Captain John Allman of Eyrecourt, County Galway and Corranroo, Abbey, Burren Barony.  A John Allman was granted a marriage licence in Killaloe 1807. His intended - Hanah Daly.

Is this person the same as Captain John Allman?

The Waterford Mail newspaper of September 21st 1833 reported that Captain Allman of Eyrecourt had been appointed a Commissioner of Tithes, near Mallow. (Co. Cork).

I'm unsure if this is of any interest or if you still monitor these responses. I am researching Martin Kelly (1801-1873) from Queens County who was transported to Australia in 1828. The charge was disputed and in a letter to him from his family in 1831 is the following sentence: "There is a nephew of Captain Almon (sic) going out to his unkel (sic) and he is taking this letter for us. Me Mother was taking to him at Mrs McCalls in _____ and he will see you when he goes to his unkel."

Martin Kelly was at Muswellbrook NSW, where I understand Francis Allman had a property in the 1830s. Would be really interested in connecting with you regarding this family as I am trying to establish the date that Martin arrived at Muswellbrook.
