Greetings:
I am tracing my McGonigle tree. My 2nd great grandfather William McGonigle may have been baptized Jan 31, 1835. He was married in 1856 in Ballyshannon, Donegal. His parents may have been Edward McGonigle and Elizabeth Holland or Trolland, married in 1830.
Thank you for all your help!

Irish press warns against Jamaican Indentured Servitude

The theme was always the same: the pestilential climate of the island, the reduction of poor emigrants to slaves, the severity and cruelty of the planters (and planter-dominated Assembly clinging to every vestige of oppression) and, of course, the absence of priests and chapels.
