His father was Richard Wade and his mother was Ruth Wade (nee Somers). He married Elizabeth Amanda Cummins in 1874 and the marriage was registered in Tullamore but references to Dysart, Mullingar and Geashill are found frequently in his history.
Co. Offaly, or Uíbh Fhailí in Irish, was once known as King's County. It is in the midlands region of Ireland with the River Shannon defining its western border. We are home to Birr Castle and Moneygall, which is the ancestral home of President Obama. Our county town is Tullamore and we have a population of approximately 78,003. We look forward to helping you connect with your ancestors’ place of origin.
