Migrated to/Born in USA

Patrick Quinn was my great grandfather. He was from Pomeroy, County Tyrone. His family allegedly owned a livery stable.  His middle name may have been Francis.  He emigrated from Ireland to Buffalo, NY, was in the US Cavalry until he went AWOL, and then lived in Elizabeth, NJ.  I'm told I have a personality that's a whole lot like his so he interests me a lot.  But I have very little other information on him and would especially like to find out the names of his parents.  Can anyone out there help?
