Patrick Pierce was born about 1824 in Ireland. He arrived in the US about 1850 and was naturalized 15 Sept 1857 in St Louis, Missouri, USA.
He married Johanna Scanlon on October 12, 1851 in Ohio, USA. By 1860 he was living in St Lous, Missouri.
They had six children in 14 years: Margaret, Michael D, Elen Johanna "Nellie," Catherine "Kate," Elizabeth Bridget "Lizzie," and Mary Alena.
He died in December 1868 in St Louis, Missouri, at the age of 44, and was buried there at Calvary Cemetery.
His wife Johanna filed for probate in 1869 and guardianship of the children in 1877.
