After growing up in Bracklagh, Patrick emigrated to Bolton (Lancashire) in the 1920s.

In 1927, he married Kathleen Jordan and together they had three children - Patrick, Kathleen Teresa and Thomas Augustine (my paternal grandfather).

They lived in Chorley Street, near the town centre, and he worked as a foreman/ganger.

He outlived his wife and at least two of his children (details on Patrick Jr are scarce after he moved to Australia).

In his later years, he lived next to St Edmund Church and regularly went drinking at the Hen and Chickens Pub.

He passed away in December 1981 and was laid to rest in Tonge Cemetery.
