Looking for any family in County Mayo with the last name of Bilbow. I was told there could be a family in Ballina, or Ballsakerry Civil parish and Parish Name is Kilala. I hoping I am making sense. A Patrick Bilbow came to the states are 1862 or so and settled in Pennsylvania., Luzerne County, I think he then went to Phildelphia PA. I know he had a Matthew Billbow. Matthew Billbow also had a Matthew Bilbow he is my wife uncle. My wife name is Joan McNally Cavanaugh. Matthew Bibow Jr then moved to National Park NJ. He had four children. The reason I am writting is I am coming to Ireland this Sept and would like to know if there are anyone left by the name of Bilbow in County Mayo. All help would be forever grateful.

Yours

Edward Cavanaugh

    Kildavnet Freeholders List

A unique Census Substitute for the townland of Carrickkildavnet aka Kildavnet in 1829. This Freeholders List can provide useful information about those who held enough land to register to vote. While the smaller tenant farmers who suffered most during the Great Famine won't appear on this list, there may be a few surprises included here (that didn't appear on Tithe applotment records). These could be partners on a freehold lease. Can you find your ancestor's name below?
