Benjamin came to New Brunswick, Canada in May 1861on the J&J Clarke ship Argentinus with his parents Joseph (1814-1870) and Sarah (Sally 1819-1891) and siblings Anne (1846-1892), Eleanor (1851-1911) and Joanna (1852-?). The ship records have HANLIN for the spelling.
It appears he was born in Letterkenny, County Donegal in 1856 and he died at the age of 87, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada where he is buried in the Cedar Hill Cemetery extension.
His mothers maiden name was Hamilton and his grandfathers name was Abraham (possibly Alexander). There are records connecting the family to County Donegal.
Benjamin married twice; once to Sarah Smith (1865-1886) and had a daughter with her Sarah/Sadie (1885-1920) and the other to Matilda Peltier of which they had 4 children with, one of them being my grandfather Joseph (1896-1991) and the other 3 are William (1880-1935) Ellen (1889-1968) and Marcella (1890-?)
