David was from Ballylough (Ballydeloughy), Co. Cork. He was probably a former tenant of the Earl of Kingston. Before emigrating, he was working as a schoolteacher in Marshalstown. David and his wife, Catherine Sullivan and their children were chosen to be Peter Robinson Emigrants, and they left Ireland in 1825 and came to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. His surname was spelled "Conry" in the Peter Robinson records, but the family went by Conroy in Canada. We are looking to connect with other Conroy men with roots in the area who have or interested in doing a YDNA test.
