Have searched all available online records (Family Search; GenRegister Northern Ireland; Irish Genealogy; GOVIE; Ireland.Anglican org and Catholic and Protestant church records to find above person--my paternal grandfather.

We do not have confirmed birthdate but believe he was born between 1864-1866 (March of 1864 is most common belief). Born in Garrison; family homestead/cemetery plot there. I have his marriage and death certificates and my father's. Grandfather emigrated to Boston Ma in 1880.

My brother found his birth certificate many years ago when visiting Ireland. I've had no luck finding online, have written to passport office about confirming DOB only but they will not 'violate privacy' of my brother's application. Brother is off grid and will not provide the info to his siblings.

Am planning a visit to Ireland in next few months to track the certificate myself. Where would I go 1st? General Register office in Dublin?

Any other suggestions of which offices to visit in person would be welcome. I do realize they all require appointments, which is fine.

    THE BATTLE OF THE BOYLE

    <p>The Battle of the Boyle (which preceded the Battle of the Boyne by 10 months) was a battle that took place in 1689, when the Williamite forces of Enniskillen attacked the Jacobite forces of Connaught. </p> <p>The battle took place, on 20 September 1689, near the town of Boyle in the west of Ireland (the Williamites having previously taken Sligo). The Williamite victory in Boyle was a temporary one. All was not lost until the tides turned at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690.</p>
