Felix Marlow worked on the docks of Newry. He married Elizabeth (McShane ?) circa 1830. Felix and Elizabeth had 3 Irish born children - Daniel 1830, Catherine 1832 and George 1835. The young family emigrated to Toxteth Park, Liverpool circa 1836 where Felix obtained work in the Liverpool docks. They had five more children in Liverpool during the Irish famine years (in fact my great grandfather 'James' was born in Black47) and the Liverpool epidemic years of the early 1850's. Their story from there read like a Shakespearean tragedy.
Felix had at least 4 Irish siblings Arthur, Daniel, Catherine and George each of whom I believe also lived in Newry.
I suspect that Felix's wife was Elizabeth McShane from Creggan Upper who was born on 24th November 1816. I would really like to confirm the identity of Elizabeth as I find it is often the women who are left unidentified in these stories and in this case it was actually Elizabeth who battled through the horror years, and was the matriarch for the surviving members of the Marlow family in Liverpool.
