My grandfather had written on the back of this photo "Dad in his native village...19-1...relics of forge behind"
His "dad" is Michael Patrick.
County Roscommon, or Ros Comáin in Irish, is located in the western region of Ireland. We are home to the stunning Lough Key Forest Park and statistically, we are known to have the longest life expectancy of any county in Ireland! We look forward to helping you connect with your ancestors’ place of origin.

Our aim is to connect all people with a link to Roscommon Town and its civil parish. You may live here, have visited here or maybe are tracing ancestors who left long ago. In any case, we’re sure to have lots to share and are delighted to welcome you. Ros Comáin (St. Coman's Woods) derives its name from Coman mac Faelchon who built a monastery here in the 5th century.
