Sometime in the mid 1800’s two young men left Cork, Ireland, and set out for the United States, land of their dreams. They were brothers, Mike and John Cooney. They settled in New Ulm, Minnesota.
County Cork, or Corcaigh in Irish, is the southernmost county in Ireland and also the largest county. It is known as “The Rebel County”. We are home to the Blarney Stone and known for our beaches and beautiful scenery. We have a population of approximately 542,196. We look forward to helping you connect with your ancestors’ place of origin.
