Mary Gleeson was born Abt 1837 in New Market on Fergus, Co Clare. Her parents were Michael Gleeson and Margaret Clune, as stated on her Australian Death Certificate.

She was married to John O'Leary on the 9th of February 1856 in the diocese of Killaloe, New Market on Fergus.

They had a son Michael who was baptized 22nd of August 1861 in the diocese of Killaloe and the witnesses were Margaret Clune and Patt Gleeson.

They arrived in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on 2nd July 1863 on board the ship 'Cairngorm'. Their son Michael did not arrive so is thought to have died at sea. Passenger records show Michael as 7 yrs old and his birth year was 1856.

It is unclear whether that is correct or not as parish records show his baptism in 1861.

Children of John and Mary all born in Queensland.
