Margaret Weldon was the fifth child born to James Weldon and Catherine Burris in Blanchardstown, County Dublin in 1839. Margaret moved with the family to Newcastle-Lyons (Parish of Saggart) and then, moved to the City Of Dublin for work. At the time of her marriage, she resided at 23 Amiens Street in the Docklands section of the City of Dublin.

Margaret Weldon (1839-1876) married John Kennedy (1838-1893) in October 1862 in St Laurence O’Toole’s Church, City of Dublin. They had six boys. The boys were baptized at St Mary’s (Pro-Cathedral), City of Dublin. John was a wine porter. Margaret died in December 1876 from inflammation after childbirth. Three of the boys died in infancy. James Kennedy (1865-1888) died from laryngitis and pneumonia. Richard and Thomas Kennedy married and raised families in Dublin. They were parishioners of St Andrews Church, Westland Row, Dublin. John Kennedy remarried in 1878 and lived in North Dublin with his wife and new family.
