Kathleen Higgins was born on September 24, 1904, in Headford, Galway, Ireland, her father, James, was 40, and her mother, Margaret Keeley was 42. She married Joseph William Monahan on May 27, 1922, in New York City, New York. They had nine children in 18 years. She died on January 29, 1985, in New York, New York, at the age of 80
