Joseph Ringwood is my great, great grandfather. He was born about 1826, probably in Queen's County (Laois) but possibly in Kilkenny. Ireland Reaching Out helped me to find Joseph's death record in 1895 in Graigue, Queen's County (Laois), very near the borders with Kilkenny and Tipperary.
Based on many, many DNA matches, my current strong guess is that Joseph's parents were William Ringwood and Mary Blake. Charlotte Ringwood from that family was the baptismal sponsor and supposedly an aunt to Joseph's daughter Mary Anne (my great grrandmother), and Charlotte Ringwood was also who my grandmother Charlotte Loughery was named after. Also, Joseph's first son was named William.
However, I cannot find any baptismal record for Joseph Ringwood to Wiliam Ringwood and Mary Blake -- but those start in 1827. So was Joseph simply the oldest with no available online record?
The only other "possible" baptismal record that I could find for a Joseph Ringwood in that time was on 10 Feb 1826 in Castlepierce, near Johnstown, Kilkenny with parents James Ringwood and Mary Kelly. But I could find only one other baptismal record for that couple so there's no way for me to verify. Also, Joseph did not have any sons named James.
Joseph married Norah Feeley (shown in the picture) at Templetuohy, Tipperary in 1860 but all their children were born in Graigue, Queen's County (Laois) - same as where all the children of William Ringwood and Mary Blake were born.
