John Owen Duffy was born in Sligo, Apr 1844.  At some point, before 1860, he emmigrated to Bacup, England and worked in the cotton mill.  There he met and married Julia Mary McGough (we believe she was from Tuam, Ireland). They had 3 children, Thomas H, Patrick Joseph (my grand father) and Mary Ellen before emigrating to Boston, Massachusetts.  They lived in North Brookfield before settling in Quincy, Massachusetts.
