John Mark LEARY was born in County Cork in 1825. He came to the USA and settled in Wisconsin, USA where he married Julia HARRINGTON, about 1855.

They purchased a homestead near Darlington, Wisconsin where they lived most of their lives.  They were the parents of nine children including John, Frank, Daniel, Joseph, Ellie and Julia.

He was buried in the Darlington, Wisconsin cemetery.
