From his death records (which I have a copy of) John was born in 1835 in Armagh. His parents are James Kerr/Carr and Elizabeth Murdoch/Murdock. He arrived in Brisbane, Australia in 1863 onboard the "Legion of Honour". I have no information about John or his parents from his time in Ireland. John is my 2nd great grandfather and my brick wall.
County Armagh, or Ard Mhacha in Irish, is located in the north-east of Ireland. It is known as the "Orchard County" because of its many apple orchards. Our county town is Armagh and we have a population of approximately 174,792. We look forward to helping you connect with your ancestors' place of origin.
