My great-grandfather states that he was born in County Galway and immigrated to Boston in 1884. He was a shoe laster by trade. I don't think he was a great historian and possible told a few fibs about his origins.
County Galway, Gaillimh in Irish, is located in the Province of Connaught in the West of Ireland. We have a population of approximately 232,000 and look forward to assisting you in the search for your Irish ancestors.
