John Fitzpatrick and his wife Elizabeth Eliza or Ellen O'Leary emigrated from Castlemagner Parish, Cork, Ireland in 1825 as part of the Robinson Emigration. The town they settled at was renamed Peterborough in honor of Peter Robinson.
County Cork, or Corcaigh in Irish, is the southernmost county in Ireland and also the largest county. It is known as “The Rebel County”. We are home to the Blarney Stone and known for our beaches and beautiful scenery. We have a population of approximately 542,196.
