John Daly. Born abt 1831 probably in Kilvine, Mayo and died in Crumlin, Kilvine, Co. Mayo, Ireland, on 20 Mar 1901; he was 70. He was the son of John Daly and probably Sarah Tracy/Treacy.

John first married Bridget Carney. Born abt 1840. Bridget died in Crumlin, Mayo, Ireland, on 7 Aug 1872; she was 32.

They had the following children:

    2 i. Sally Daly (9 Jan 1868-)

3 ii. James Carney Daly (6 Feb 1869-30 May 1909) to San Francisco

4 iii. Patrick Daly (1 Mar 1871-) to England

On 19 Mar 1873 when John was 42, he second married Mary Kirrane, daughter of Peter Kirrane (-bef 1873), in Roman Catholic Chapel of "DryMills" Co. Mayo, Ireland. Born abt 1851. Mary died in Crumlin, Co. Mayo, Ireland, on 14 Dec 1877; she was 26.

They had the following children:

5 i. John Daly (Twin) (24 Dec 1873-13 Jan 1944) to Albany, NY

6 ii. Catherine (Kate) Daly (Twin) (24 Dec 1873-3 May 1965) to Albany, NY married John Joseph Kearns

7 iii. Peter John Daly (2 Dec 1875-2 Sep 1944) to Stamford, CT

    8 iv. Sarah Daly (12 Nov 1877-22 Dec 1877)

On 24 Feb 1879 when John was 48, he third married Mary Morley, daughter of Thomas Morley (1812-20 Jan 1874) & Catherine Glavey (abt 1812-2 Feb 1882), in Roman Catholic Chapel of Bekan. Born on 2 Sep 1843 in Lissaniska, Claremorris, Mayo, Ireland. At the age of <1, Mary was baptized in Bekan Parish, Mayo, Ireland, on 9 Feb 1843. Mary died in Crumlin, Mayo, Ireland, on 10 Oct 1924; she was 81.

They had the following children:

9 i. Thomas Francis Daly (26 Jul 1880-10 Jul 1958) to Stamford, CT

10 ii. Martin Daly (3 Nov 1882-4 Feb 1946) remained in Ireland

11 iii. Michael W. Daly (20 Dec 1886-5 Apr 1933) to Stamford, CT

Our line is descended from Michael Daly #11. I have documented most of this family, including those still in Ireland but would like to know more about, or contact other Daly families from Kilvine. There was a family from Boleyboy, including a James to Thomas and a Margaret to John in Levallyroe. I have collected almost all of the civil records, however the church records only date to 1870 so I'm looking to make connections to these other families. I would also like to make a connection to the Tracy/Treacy family which appears to have left the area.

A unique Census Substitute for the townland of Carrickkildavnet aka Kildavnet in 1829. This Freeholders List can provide useful information about those who held enough land to register to vote. While the smaller tenant farmers who suffered most during the Great Famine won't appear on this list, there may be a few surprises included here (that didn't appear on Tithe applotment records). These could be partners on a freehold lease. Can you find your ancestor's name below?
