Francis Janes aka JAINGE (on marriage record) was from the Townland of Carrickmagrath, Donaghmore, County Donegal. His father was Francis JAINGE Sr.

Francis jAINGE Jr. married Mary Jane Malcolm 23 December 1845 in the Church of Ireland. The groom's name is transcribed as LAINGE instead of JAINGE.

The marriage record shows that Francis JAINGE Sr is his father.

Mary Jane MALCOLM is on the marriage record and her father is shown as George Malcolm.

Francis and Mary Jane had 2 children, Mary Jane who was baptised in 1846 and Richard who was baptised in 1849.

In 1845 Francis and Mary Jane JAINGE (aka JANES) were living in Carrickmagrath and by 1846 they lived in Navenny, a nearby Townland.

In 1849 they were in the workhouse in Stranolar.

In 1850 they emigrated to New York City but unfortunately their son Richard died aboard the ship before reaching New York. They would have landed at Castle Garden, at the southern tip of Manhattan as that was the immigration port at that time.
