James was born in Northern Ireland, most likely County Tyrone. He migrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania prior to 1880 as his name appears on the 1880 US Census (attached).
James married Anna Loughran (maiden name was Loughran) on 24 Feb 1884 at St. Patrick's Church, in Philadelphia, PA (attached). Ann and James 8 children, 3 sons survived past the age of 10, including my grandfather David.
I was sent a note from another Ancestry member that James' family is on the 1841 - 1851 Census Abstract (attached). This abstract shows a father named David Loughran and a wife named Margaret, as well as a son named James. I was able to find a Church Baptism record on Roots Ireland. However, I have not been able to verify if David Loughran and Margaret Early are in fact the parents of my great-grandfather James.
