Family lore indicates James G Hanegan/Hannigan/Hannagan from O'h Annigain left Cork to come to America. Born April 11 1801 (I have him being born in Pennsylvania and his father William being the immigrant) He died Nov. 5, 1888 in La Grand Iowa.
County Cork, or Corcaigh in Irish, is the southernmost county in Ireland and also the largest county. It is known as “The Rebel County”. We are home to the Blarney Stone and known for our beaches and beautiful scenery. We have a population of approximately 542,196. We look forward to helping you connect with your ancestors’ place of origin.
