Born 29 March 1845 in Creggan, Armagh, Northern Ireland to Michael Begly and Rose Luckey. Married Catherine Duffy ( born 11 November 1845 to Bernard Duffy and Catherine McShane in Creggan, Armagh, Northern Irelnad) on 20 February 1862. Emigrated to New York in May 1863, traveled the Oregon Trail to New Castle, Seattle, Wa.
