David Fluke (Flook)

Born
25 Dec 1765
Gender
Male

David Fluke & Jane (Jean) McClune married in First Boardmills Presbyterian Church (County Down, Northern Ireland) in 1796. (There is a previous marriage in this church in 1795 between David Fluke & Isabel Davison and am unsure if these were two separate men named David Fluke or a first & second marriage.) David & Jane Fluke (Flook) baptised children in this same congregation soon after the marriage - Agnes Ann 1797, John (unnamed in church record) 1799, Hugh in 1801 (my direct ancestor) and David in 1806.

There is also a record for a David Fluke in Ardquin, County Down in the 1796 Flax Growers of Ireland tax list, however this appears to be geographically too far from Boardmills for it to be the same man. We are confident that the David Fluke in Boardmills church records are for my ancestors as his 3rd child, Hugh Flook (my 3rd Great Grandfather), was born there and emigrated to Canada by 1823. Other sons John & David also migrated to Canada in 1820s-1830s.

We are searching for any information on parents David Fluke and/or Jane McClune, who was possibly born in Scotland.
