Born to Thomas and Catharine, baptized in Lislee on 10 November 1845 (Ireland, Catholic Parish Registers). Migrated to England at 12? Arrived in New York, USA 14 September 1868. May have married a man named Clary, had one son with him after moving to Nebraska, Edward. Clary was out of the picture by the time Edward was 1 year old. Ellen married Patrick Woods in 1881 and had 4 more children with him. 3 of her 5 children survived to adulthood - Edward, John Patrick, and Henry. According to the 1900 census she was a washer woman living in Omaha Nebraska. Her husband died in 1911, and she died in 1917.
