Edward Fahey was born in 1842 in Galway. He married Ellen McCormick on 13 September 1864 in Lancashire, Lancashire. Edward at aged 21yrs and Ellen aged 22yrs then immigrated to NZ on the ship Bombay. They arrived in Auckland 18th March 1865 and lived in Bombay. Fahey Street, Bombay was named after the Fahey family. They had four children in 12 years. He died on 15 September 1913 in Pukekohe, Auckland, at the age of 71, and was buried there.
