Jeremiah Dowd ( abt 1830) married Bridget Collins( abt1836) around 855 in Ireland. They had John Dowd in Kilbegnet and Dunamon, Glinsk, Galway, Ireland 25 Jan 1856. He was my great Grandfather. His siblings were Michael Dowd and Thomas Dowd (twins) born on 11 Aug 1857 in Kilbegnet, and Ballinakill, Glinsk, Ireland. Catherine Dowd 23 Jun 1859 and Mary Dowd 04 May 1861 Kilbegnet and Donamon, Glinsk, Galway. Winifred Dowd 04 Mar 1865 Friaryland, Glenmaddy, Galway.

They arrived in New York on 05 December 1865 and were located in Paterson, New Jersey until their deaths.

Children born in the US were Mary Dowd 14 Dec 1865, James J Dowd 10 Sep 1867 and Margaret Dowd 11 Apr 1869 all in Paterson, New Jersey.

Doing research I have come across a number of Dowd's in that area. I was interested in finding out if any of them belong to my Dowd group?
