Born Rearyvalley in 1770, Charles Coote Meredith is my maternal 5th Great Grandfather. His first wife - of three - and my 5th Great Grandmother, Frances Warburton - dau of Rev. Richard Warburton and Anne Elliot(t) - bore him 13(?) children. Their third son, Bartholomew Elliott Meredith 1807-1888 was my 4th Great Grandfather.
County Laois, or Laois in Irish, was once known as Queen's County. Located in the midlands of Ireland, it is home to the River Nore and the River Barrow which provide excellent angling. Our county town is Portlaoise and we have a population of approximately 80,559. We look forward to helping you connect with your ancestors’ place of origin.
