Born in 1787, the son of James McFadden and Mairead Doherty, on Cruit.
Moved to Convoy where he died in 1889 aged 102 and is buried there. He married Bridget Murphy and had 3 children: John (1835-1908), James and Bridget.
He was a prosperous farmer and merchant holding several properties in Convoy including the pub (White Horse).
